Share your curiosity to win a Curiosity..

Hi folks,

I’ve been blogging for a little over a year now and I’m absolutely amazed at the growing readership. So, as a means of saying “thank you”, I’ve got a proposal and a challenge – “Share your curiosity to win a Curiosity”.

As in a Mars Rover Curiosity..

One of the big things that NetApp had going on a Oracle Open World several weeks ago was Vu Nguyen of Jet Propulsion Labs talking about the Curiosity rover landing on Mars. It was a big deal for NetApp and Red Hat as they both have much to do with the infrastructure that supports all of the data being gathered by the Mars Rover Curiosity. At the end of the session, Vu gave out “Hot Wheels” replicas of the Rover Curiosity (that he had signed!!) to folks that attended his mini-theater session at the NetApp booth. As a side note, this was the only time in the last 3 years that I wished I didn’t work at NetApp, as I was not eligible to get one…

However, my friend and NetApp colleague Friea (@friea on the Twitters.. ) was able to gather a small stash of Hot Wheels Rover Curiosity toys (not from OOW) and suggested that I give some away. (thanks, Friea!!!!!) And because of that, we have a little contest.

So here are the rules:

  1. Pick your favorite Captain KVM blog post from the past year or so and post a question about the topic. Make it a good question – show some “curiosity”. It has to be relevant to the post and to this blog. Say something about wanting to win the rover in your post!!
  2. Leave your mailing address, email address, and a phone number (FedEX requirements) in the comment. When I approve your question (I approve ALL non-spam comments/questions) I will remove your address so that it is not viewable to the inter-webs.
  3. If I believe that your question shows geniune curiosity, then I will declare you a winner, I will say so in my reply to your post, and I will ship your Hot Wheels Mars Curiosity Rover to you ASAP. Also, if you share your Twitter handle with your question, I will throw you a “shout out” on the Twitters saying you won.
  4. There is a limit of 5 winners (5 Rovers!) and you can only win once.

So, go find your favorite Captain KVM post, and show your fellow CaptainKVM followers your curiosity!!

Captain KVM

P.S. If I ~really~ like your question, I might even answer it…. 😉

UPDATE!! Nov 16, 2012 – Deepak Shetty is the 1st winner! Still have 4 more rovers left…
